Borders is composer and electronic musician Davide Cairo’s third album under the moniker of Edisonnoside. This latest record is a direct evolution from Davide’s previous electronic work focusing lalargely on ambient soundscapes, electronic textures, and hypnotic musical environments.

Borders is an 8 song record that tries to describe the abstract and invisible space that exists between people. An ever evolving space that changes in relation to the feelings and relationships we have with each other.

The music of this record acts as an introspective exploration of those spaces, offering a rich and diverse sonic landscape that encapsulates the compounded nature of human experience, capturing its ethereal and otherworldly nature through a blend of acoustic and electronic sounds.

Each of the 8 songs on ‘Borders’ is a pice of sonic lanscape made of blurry, washed-out and overly processed sounds that take listeners on a moving and brooding journey, exploring the complex nature of the space between us.

While many tracks on the album feature piano or keyboards in some form, the presence of electronic and synthetic sounds describes the nature of repetition and the inert ability of humans to fall into patterns. The combination of kick and rolling percussion provides a grounding and an anchor point amidst the swirling soundscape made of long reverbs, foley, abstract vocals and orchestral textures.

Overall, the music on this record is an exploration of the space between individuals, how this space defines us using a rich and varied sonic palette to paint a vivid picture of the human experience.
